Most of us have had or currently have the experience and struggles of living off of minimum wage. Is raising the minimum wage by almost half of its current amount really a good idea though? It is according to fifty-nine percent of commissioners and 68% of working millennials, but why, why does this seem to be a good idea.

When you really think about it, in the past you could purchase a gallon of milk for a considerably cheap price, or what we would consider cheap now, and people were making much less money then than they are now.

Once the amount of money a minimum wage worker receives increases so does the prices on your everyday items. You”re spending that money on milk, eggs, clothing, gas and all the essentials of life that stores know you need because they’re having to make money for their minimum wage workers that are now getting paid $15 an hour.

In conclusion, increasing our minimum wage does us no good from what I’ve learned and in the end, it’s just raising the prices on products that we need.
