Domestic Awareness bracelets will be sold at BHS during lunch time from Oct. 16 to Nov. 1 to raise money for a local service for domestic violence victims.
Senior Emmie Kleinherenbrink decided to do this fundraiser for her Passion Pursuits project to show the negative effects of domestic violence.
“I thought it was an important issue that sometimes gets overlooked,” said Kleinherenbrink.
She said she’s not sure that people at BHS are affected by domestic violence, but said it is always a possibility, especially with this issue.
The money raised will go to Brighthouse, a victim assistance service that provides shelter, protection, and support groups and much more.
“I hope my project can show them that they are not alone,” Kleinherenbrink said.
