While Buhler students were taking a day off on Monday, Jan. 21, in honor of Martin Luther King Jr., varsity choir and Buhler singers got dressed up to perform at the community MLK service held at the Second Missionary Baptist Church. The performance took place at 2 p.m. The songs that were performed were “Worthy To Be Praised!,” “I Sing Because I’m Happy,” and “MLK”.
Other than the choir and singers, the Hutchison Community College singers also performed. Four former Buhler graduates were part of the HCC musical group Badinage.
“Great event bringing many people together to celebrate Dr. King’s life goal to choose love over hate,” said Greg Bontrager, the choir director.
“It was a fun experience and full of energy,” said Kambrie Friesen, fr.
