Mrs. Rice is a new FACs teacher here at BHS. She worked at Hutchinson Middle School for two years before coming to Buhler. This is her third year of teaching.
She heard about BHS through the community, but she heard about the FACS opening through a former co-worker. She said the family atmosphere that BHS displayed during her interview was what made her decide to take the job. She also stated she had heard a lot of wonderful things about the school and the students.
She really enjoys teaching culinary! More specifically she likes to teach decorating, piping, plating, and sugar work. She said “I am NOT the best example, but I love to learn new ways to make food look beautiful.”
Some of her goals while being at BHS are to get FCCLA going again, reach out to the community of Buhler for guest speakers and volunteers in her classroom — she wants everyone to know what great things are happening in the FACS department, and utilize the technology that USD 313 has to offer.
Some of her hobbies include breeding golden retriever puppies, baking, spending time with her six-year-old son who loves sports, and remodeling her house.
