Collin Severud breaks school record

After out pacing and out scoring the Winfield Vikings, 3-0, on Tuesday Oct. 30, the Crusaders head to the State semi-finals on Friday. They will play Kansas City Christian High School at 5 p.m. at the pitch located at Piper High School in Kansas City, Kansas.

The first half of the game against Winfield was scoreless, but after halftime Buhler  exploded with Cade Taylor, jr., scoring two back-to-back goals. Later in the half, Ethan Fluck, jr., scored by popping the ball over the keeper.

Collin Severud, sr., has had a phenomenal season only allowing six goals by opponents. On Tuesday Severud broke a school record for shutouts the single season record of was 11. Severud broke the record with 12 shutouts this season.

If the Crusaders win the State semi-final on Friday, they will advance to Saturday’s championship match up against either Bishop Miege or TMP-Marian. The Final match will be played at 2 p.m.  A loss on Friday would throw the team into the consolation game for third and fourth place., to be played at noon. Both games will be played at Piper High School.
